Your first seven days with AI
One small step a day. Ten or fifteen minutes is enough.
- Day 1 Open an AI tool you can access and ask it to explain one ordinary thing you have wondered about. If you are offline, write the question and how you would recognise a useful answer.
- Day 2 Ask about the same subject in simpler language, as if you were explaining it to a younger person. Notice what changed and what did not.
- Day 3 Find three places you already meet AI, perhaps a search suggestion, translation feature or phone assistant. Write what each seems to do without assuming it always does it well.
- Day 4 Ask a tool about a subject you know well, using no private examples. Mark one detail it got right and one you would question.
- Day 5 Read a claim about AI and ask who is making it, what evidence is offered and whose experience is missing.
- Day 6 Speak with someone about a useful or disappointing technology experience. You do not have to persuade them to use anything.
- Day 7 Look back at your notes. Which task would be safe and worthwhile to try next week? If you completed only two days, choose one small task anyway. Progress is not a competition.
